Registration open for August 22 listening session for caretakers of special education students

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – Parents and guardians of children who receive special education and related services from New Hanover County Schools are invited to take part in a listening session from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22 in the multipurpose room at New Hanover County Health and Human Services (1650 Greenfield Street).

This event, which is being hosted by New Hanover County and the City of Wilmington’s joint Community Relations Advisory Committee in partnership with the New Hanover County Special Education Parent Teacher Association, will provide caregivers an opportunity to discuss available resources, share concerns and learn about options related to special education in the school system.

Attendees are asked to register beforehand at this link to help organizers keep track of who is joining the session. While the event will be at HHS, those unable to attend in-person can also join remotely by visiting this Zoom link. In-person attendees are welcome to bring their children with them to the event, provided they are supervised.
