Equity Matters Live! - Black Maternal Health

On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, New Hanover County Health and Human Services will host Black Maternal Health Stories at the New Hanover County Main Library, 3rd Floor, Wilmington, NC 28401.  

The goal is to provide Black women with a venue to discuss their maternal health experiences, start a dialogue about what can be done to lessen Black maternal disparities and inequities, and foster relationships that will benefit our community.

Our guest panelists will be: 

• Dr. Charity Watkins, Assistant Professor at NCCU, and Chair of Equity Before Birth https://loom.ly/dzPwKoc
• Ms. Courtney Jackson, Maternal Health advocate and community leader
• Ms. LaKesha McDay, Vice President of the NHC Endowment Fund, Moderator
• Ms. Tufanna Bradley, Assistant County Manager of NHC
