New Hanover County was certified as a "Clean Community" member of Keep America Beautiful, Inc. in 1978 and continues to be a certified affiliate of the nation’s largest community improvement network.   We seek to engage citizens to improve their community with a focus on community beautification, litter prevention, and waste reduction and recycling.  The organization is housed in the Department of Parks, Gardens and Senior Resources.
