Sealed bids for Arrowhead Park Improvements owned by New Hanover County Parks & Recreation will be received by New Hanover County Finance Department, 230 Government Center Drive, Suite 165 (Lucie Harrell Conference Room 646), Wilmington, North Carolina 28403 until Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. local time at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.


Address bids to the attention of Lena Butler, Purchasing Supervisor, New Hanover County Finance Departments, 230 Government Center Drive, suite 165, Wilmington, North Carolina and mark sealed bid, Do not open - ARROWHEAD PARK IMPROVEMENTS  RFB# 11-0117”.
Bids will be received for a Single Prime General Contract.  All proposals shall be lump sum.  See New Hanover County official website for full Request for Bid,
Project Description: Furnishing of all labor and materials for demolition of existing park infrastructure and re-construction of a 2,170 sf restroom/picnic shelter, parking lot, two tennis courts, multi-purpose field, sidewalks, sanitary septic system, potable water service, and associated grading, drainage and landscape work. 
Plans and Specifications will be open for free inspection and/or obtained on or after May 19, 2011 at the County’s Engineering Office located at 230 Government Center Drive, Suite 160, Wilmington, North Carolina 28403 during regular office hours or by contacting Copy Cat at or visit Current Bids.  Persons requesting shipment of documents shall bear the additional, non-refundable cost of shipment, if applicable.
The County will conduct a non-mandatory Pre-Bid meeting Tuesday, May 31, 2011 @ 2:00 pm.  The meeting will be held in the Lucie Harrell Conference Room 646 located at 230 Government Center Drive.
Bidders must be properly licensed under Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statues.  New Hanover County’s pre-qualified contractor list shall act as the list of potential bidders.  Subcontractors are responsible for contacting the County to review the list and contacting potential prime bidders for subcontracting opportunities. 
A Bid Bond equal to 5% of the base bid price is required.  A performance bond and a payment bond will be required for one-hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
The County reserves the right to waive any informalities, to reject any or all bids, and to accept that Bid or Bids which is in the best interest of the County.
