Fee Schedule

Effective October 1, 2009

G.S. 161-11.6 has added an additional $5 fee for Deeds recorded on or after that date. This will include all documents with the word "Deed" in the title of the instrument and/or any documents we collect Excise Tax with the exception of Deeds of Trust or Mortgages, which are subject to a different fee increase. Each $5 fee increase less 2% administrative cost will be forwarded to the NC Department of Cultural Resources.

G.S. 161-10(a) (1a) was amended to increase the filing fee for the first page of a deed of trust from $22 to $28. Out of each $6 fee increase $1 will stay with the county and $5 will be forwarded to the NC State General Fund.
