A construction kickoff ceremony will take place Wednesday, June 24 at 10:00 am at the site of the future Olsen Park.  The project located off Murrayville Road is a joint project between New Hanover County and the city of Wilmington, thanks to the 2006 Parks and Greenspace Bond Referendum. 
Phase 1 of this project includes 32 acres of recreational space, 5 lighted softball fields, restrooms, concession buildings, picnic shelter, 248 parking spaces, and more. The estimated construction cost of Phase 1 is $3.76 million.
