Seabreeze Community

The Seabreeze community was developed as a resort area in the early 1920s.  The first building constructed in 1922 was called "Seabreeze." Subsequently the entire area became known as Seabreeze.  By the early 1920's, construction had increased, and be the mid 1940's most of the area was fully developed.  Community amenities included a fishing pier, hotels, cafes and a dance pavilion.  In more recent years, as a result of integration, natural disasters and other external forces, the Seabreeze community has declined.  Even though the community has gone through many changes, still today it retains its identity.  The map shows the area considered to be the Seabreeze community.  The purple line delineates the boundary of the community.

Seabreeze...A Heritage Renewed

In 1988, Planning Staff developed a plan for the Seabreeze community.  The plan was intended as a policy guide for future development and to provide a plan for the revitalization of the Seabreeze community.  CLICK HERE to read the 1988 plan: Seabreeze...A Heritage Renewed.

A community meeting was held on June 16 at 6:00 to discuss progress that has been made since the creation of the 1988 plan, as well as current issues facing the community.

Meeting attendees submitted their three top "wishes" for the future of the Seabreeze community.  CLICK HERE to see the results of the survey.
