Completed rehabilitation of 11 houses with funding from a $360,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and qualified 3 houses for the Crisis Housing Assistance Fund which was established to assist City and County households with repairs and replacement as a result of the 2004 hurricanes. |

Processed 43 applications for Rezoning, 30 Special Use Permits, 12 Text Amendments and 2600 requests for information relating to development projects, service provision or information relating to growth and development in the County. |

Completed our annual certification for the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) voluntary Community Rating System (CRS) program. The County's Class 7 status qualifies residents with flood insurance backed by the National Flood Insurance Program a 15% reduction in their flood insurance premium. |

Developed plans to enhance the storm water wetland and bioretention areas constructed with funds from a $150,000 EPA Grant for water quality demostration projects. Interpretive signage and a decking system will make the projects more accessible to developers and students. |

Priortized implementation strategies included in the Wilmington/New Hanover County 2006 CAMA Land Use Plan Update as required by the Coastal Area Management Act. Prioritized strategies will serve as a roadmap for planning projects in the coming years. |

Presented three outstanding project awards and three significant achievement awards at the second Stewardship Development Awards Program banquet. The awards recognize development projects that go above and beyond our ordinance requirements to contribute to the conservation and protection of natural resources. |

Received a Clean Water Managment Trust Fund grant for the purchase of 60 acres of riparian buffer along Smith Creek in central New Hanover County. |
