Do you need a heap of kids' books? Use the Library's Teacher Request Form! Classroom teachers, preschool teachers, homeschoolers, childcare providers, group leaders, and any others who need children's books "in volume" are encouraged to use this request method rather than requesting large numbers of books individually by title through the library catalog listings. Why use the Teacher Request Form: 1) It lets us serve you better. Requests are filled by experienced staff based at the Main Library, where space allows NHCPL to house its largest children's book collection. The Children's staff are familiar with materials, curriculum needs, and developmental levels and can assemble a selection of the best quality books available for your topic and age group. 2) It's quicker and easier for you. Why spend a long time searching the library catalog and putting in title-by-title requests, when a selection of books can be assembled for you? You can print out the Teacher Request Form, or e-mail all the information requested by the form to the Main Library Children's Department.  (Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view the form, click here to download) How to Use the Teacher Request Form: 1) After you have printed out a copy of this form and filled it in, you may fax this form to the fax number listed above, or turn it in at any New Hanover County Public Library location. 2) If you have a curriculum list or other list of specific titles you are using to plan your study or activity, feel free to attach that list to this form. We will look for those titles, and add or substitute comparable books for the same age group. 3) All requests are filled through the Children's Department at the Main Library, but can be picked up at any location.
