Job Descriptions

Director:   

  • Supervises staff in prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations. 
  • Responds to the needs of the clients and the public by developing, implementing  and evaluating programs and services within parameters of policies established by Federal, State, and local governments; ensures that all program goals are in line with the community-developed mission statement and are consistent with the objectives of the center.  
  • Develops a budget to meet the operational needs of the programs; works to procure grant funding to lower the direct County cost of the programs and services.  
  • Represents the County on various local boards and committees. 
  • Researches, evaluates and disseminates relative information regarding the latest methods for operating an effective center, ensures those methods are used, the results are documented, and information is made available to all stakeholders.  
  • Prepares reports on programs and financial status of the Center.  
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.  
  • Performs work during emergency/disaster situations.         

 

Clinical Manager:

  • Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; and making, hiring, terminating, and disciplining recommendations.
  • Monitors service plans and observes classrooms for compliance with planned courses and program activities.
  • Works with other agencies that are involved with the goals and treatment plans of the youth.
  • Coordinates mental health referrals.
  • Oversees the behavioral management program of the Center.
  • Coordinates building security and maintenance to ensure a safe environment for all students and staff.
  • Performs work during emergency/disaster situations.

 

Education Coordinator:

  • Performs daily liaison and reporting functions with school personnel and notifies schools of the need for substitute teachers when regular teachers are absent.
  • Oversees all classroom teachers' performance, including those employed by the schools, and direct supervision of teachers employed by the Center.
  • Creates an individual education plan for each program client.
  • Maintains student attendance records, grades, testing scores and other confidential records.
  • Coordinates with Juvenile Center Clinical Manager and intervention staff to integrate treatment approaches with the educational needs of each client.
  • Coordinates teacher-parent/child conferences.
  • Attends monthly meetings with the Juvenile Center Director and school principal.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature of level.
  • Performs work during emergency/disaster situations.

 

Support Services Coordinator:

  • Supervises staff and coordinates support services activities of administrative, clinical, financial, and human resources systems at the Juvenile Day Treatment Center.
  • Supervises two or more full-time staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Oversees office operations to include greeting callers and visitors, distributing mail, updating staff records, and responding to staff inquiries regarding various personnel issues and policies.
  • Prepares reports for the School Lunch Program reimbursement, to include billing, accounts receivable, and depositing funds to correct organizations.
  • Coordinates document preparation and distribution which includes choosing appropriate forms and formats; composing correspondence, charts, memoranda, forms, and minutes; and, reviewing and editing the work of others.
  • Assists with budget preparation and monitoring to include preparing reports of revenue and expense forecasts; processing invoices; ensuring fees are collected and deposited, and drafting budget amendments.
  • Prepares the financial portion of government grants and revisions and completes all paperwork to be submitted for approval.
  • Coordinates office records by interpreting retention policies and maintaining files.
  • Conducts departmental orientation for new employees.
  • Orders office supplies and equipment from appropriate vendors.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
  • Performs work during emergency/disaster situations.

 

Treatment Supervisors:

  • Supervises staff to include prioritizing and assigning work; conduction performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; and making hiring, terminating, and disciplining recommendations.
  • Monitors and assists in developing service plans, progress summaries and client notes for all students.
  • Coordinates the intake and discharge paperwork for all students, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Implements monitoring systems such as behavior management, goal cards, community service tallies, and census counting.
  • Observes the day-to-day treatment of clients to ensure intervention models are used effectively and that appropriate lesson plans are followed; monitors student attendance and follows up on truancy with sonic.
  • Provides information to administration and outside agencies with regard to treatment planning, systems issues, and other programmatic issues.
  • Collaborates with staff to plan and execute special activities and events for students.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
  • Performs work during emergency/disaster situations.

 

Teachers:

  • Identifies the educational needs and strategies that must be used to obtain students' program goals.
  • Determines objectives for students to meet program goals.
  • Develops methods and obtains the materials necessary for students to meet their educational objectives in the curriculum.
  • Plans programs of study to meet individual needs, interests, and abilities of students
  • Assesses student accomplishments.
  • Prepares all necessary reports regarding the program and student accomplishments.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
  • Performs work during emergency/disaster situations.

 

Intervention Specialists:

  • Provides life skills training.
  • Prepares strategies related to group counseling, service plans, and recreational activities.
  • Interacts closely with educational staff to ensure behavioral compliance from students and the completion of educational assignments and outcomes.
  • Completes monthly reports on students' behavior, attitude, achievement, education, and overall progress.
  • Coordinates the transportation of students.
  • Reviews service plan summaries and presents them to court and schools.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
  • Performs work during emergency/disaster situations.
