New Hanover County vector control responds to citizen requests for standing water, mosquitoes, rats and other concerns regarding vectors that citizens may have.  Many calls received from our citizens are driven by the Asian tiger mosquito that can be found nearby in containers.  When a request for service is received, staff will call to schedule a visit to the citizen’s home to provide public education and evaluate the area for larvicing, adulticiding, or source reduction control measures.
