I do not understand the star rated system or how child care facilities are rated.  My child’s day care has a 2-stars rating.  What does that mean?

The Star Rated License is comprised of three areas: Program Standards, Staff Education and Compliance History.  A site with one star meets basic licensing, requirements.  Sites with 2 or more stars are ones that have achieved higher levels of accomplishment.  Five stars is the highest rating possible.  For more information on the Star Rated License System, call the Child Advocacy’s Commission © C R & R at (910)791-1057, extension 18 or 25 or the Division of child Development at 1-800-859-0829.)
