Yellow Fever

Yellow fever is a viral disease that is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected mosquitoes.  Yellow fever is required to enter some countries on your itinerary and some countries only recommend the vaccination.  Yellow fever vaccine reactions are generally mild, but some reactions can be severe, such as encephalitis (brain infection).  You are required to receive the vaccine 10 days before entering the country you are visiting and will need documentation that we provide in the International Travel Clinic.
