Meningococcal
Meningococcal disease is an acute bacterial disease with a sudden onset of fever, intense headache, nausea, vomiting, and stiff neck. There are two types of vaccines to prevent meningococcal disease and the one that a person receives will be based on age. Menactra is a one-time dose and Menomune may require a booster 2-5 years later. There is a meningococcal meningitis disease belt that is located centrally through Africa and some areas in the Middle East may actually require the vaccination.
