The goal of the Child Find Coordinator is to identify children (birth through age 5) who may need services to prepare them for preschool and kindergarten. This involves a continuous process of public awareness activities, screening and evaluation designed to locate, identify and refer as early as possible all children with disabilities.
The Child Find Coordinator meets with parents and their child either in the home, the Health Department or another place of parents' choice to:
- Review developmental milestones
- Assist with a parent questionnaire for developmental screening
- Assist with a parent questionnaire for social-emotional screening
- Link families with community resources
