Goal: To ensure proper reporting of communicable diseases, investigation of suspected outbreaks, and implementation of control and prevention measures. Monitor the ongoing systematic collection of case reports of communicable diseases from physicians, health care providers, laboratories, child facilities, schools, and restaurants. Collaborate with public health and community partners to design and implement measures to prevent outbreak of disease in the community. Encourage prompt recognition to guide public health intervention in the reporting of unusual and emerging diseases, including bioterrorism events. Enforce public health law compliance in order to control and prevent these diseases and other hazards considered harmful to the public health.
