Our goal at the New Hanover County Health Department is to decrease the incidence of vaccine preventable diseases that used to kill or have serious physical, emotional, or economic consequences.

We provide vaccines required by North Carolina immunization law for daycare, school, and college entry.

Adult vaccines are available for a fee.

Services available:

  • Childhood immunizations to prevent diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, measles, mumps, meningitis, hepatitis B, and chicken pox.
  • Adolescent boosters
  • Adult immunizations include: Influenza annually, Tetanus every ten years, Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B if at risk, Pneumococcal at age 65 or with chronic illness. Occupational and/or personal-choice vaccines are also available.
