Project ASSIST
Project ASSIST is a local tobacco prevention coalition of community citizens and agency representatives serving New Hanover, Pender and Brunswick counties. Meetings are held on a monthly basis at the New Hanover County Health Department. Please call (910) 798-6658 for dates and time of meetings.
The coalition has several goals, some of which are: to reduce the number of citizens in our community who use tobacco; prevent our youth from beginning to smoke; encourage local establishments to become smoke-free, and thus reduce exposure to second-hand smoke; increase the cigarette tax; and educate the public regarding the dangers of tobacco use.
