The new Hanover County Engineering Department provides a range of engineering services, both to the commumity and to other County departments. The following is an overview of some of these services.
1) Subdivision Review: Review Plans and Specifications for subdivisions for conformance with Federal, State, and Local regulations with respect to engineering design requirements, to include stormwater, sedimentation and erosion control, roads, easements, and flood plain. Make recommendations to staff, developers and designers regarding modification or approval of plans. For Questions related to these reviews for developmental purposes, contact Jim Iannucci.
2) Sedimentation and Erosion Control: Staff Manages the local program for State Sedimentation and Erosion Control requirements within New Hanover County and the City of Wilmington. For questions related to Sedimentation and Erosion Control, contact Beth Easley Wetherill.
3) Stormwater and Drainage: Provides Regulatory oversight for the County's Storm Water ordinance. For questions related to the Storm Water Ordinance, contact Jim Iannucci.
4) Capital Project Management: Staff manages all County-owned Capital Construction Projects. Services include overseeing design development, bidding, plan reviews, negotiations, monitoring schedules, coordinating inspections and all other contractual requirements pertaining to the project, and ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and Local laws and any other requirements.
