The Engineering Department administers the New Hanover County Storm Water Ordinance and Local Erosion Control Program, manages various capital construction projects, participates in subdivision reviews, and provides administrative support for all
commercial and residential building permits.
****The New Hanover County Erosion Control Program has received the Local Program Award for Excellence in Sediment and Erosion Control for 2008 from the NC Sediment Control Commission.
