New Hanover County has established a Citizen Corps Council composed of representatives of organizations which have a vested interest in helping citizens to become more aware and better trained in emergency preparedness. The goal of the Council is to coordinate the provision of emergency preparedness training and other related activities offered to the citizens of the County resulting in a safer community.
The Council consists of representatives of the following sectors of the community: volunteer organizations, local government, the faith-based community, the Hispanic community, neighborhoods, veterans, the African-American community, senior citizens, businesses, schools, and civic organizations. If your organization would like to become involved in the New Hanover County Citizen Corps Council, please call 798-6900.
