Merril Locke

Merril Locke  has worked in the field of civil/human rights since 1981, and has been an investigator with the Commission since 1986. She conducts investigations of employment and housing discrimination complaints. She earned a B.A. in English, and an M.A. with dual emphasis in Human Resources Development and Management.

Linda Moore serves as Public Relations Specialist. She is responsible for planning and coordinating the Commission’s outreach efforts, creating agency advertising, writing the Commission's annual report and maintaining the agency's  web site. Additional responsibilities include dispersing public information about the HRC and its services, annual workshops, forums, and projects to all levels of the media. She serves members of the Commission as needed, and provides direct assistance to local citizens. She earned a B.A. in English and Secondary Education.  Ms. Moore joined the Human Relations' staff in 1993. She has over 35 years experience in education and community services.

Lynda Nichols-Brown
Lynda Nichols-Brown, Administrative Support Specialist, has been employed with the Commission since September, 1987. She performs advanced specialized clerical and routine functions while implementing and coordinating administrative support in all areas of assignment. She earned a B.A. in Public Administration.
Cynthia Stevens joined the staff of the Commission in 1996, and has thirteen years experience in the investigative field as both a criminal and civil investigator for the federal sector. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology, and has received extensive training in the areas of civil rights, federal law, and conducting investigations including training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, Georgia.

Fannie Chestnut Hairston

 Fannie Chestnut Hairston serves as the Commission's HUD Advisor. She is the former Director of the Atlanta Program Center, Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. She served as Advisor to the Miami Program Center which included Florida and Puerto Rico, and the Kentucky Program Center which included North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennesee and Kentucky.
